Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) is reworking the design of its proposed fifth container terminal along with a ship repair facility after it was forced to clear the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link Project. The port has to look at other alternatives, as the link will now pass through the waters where it had planned fifth terminal, said L Radhakrishnan, Chairman of JNPT. Jaipur’s each ward to get Rs 1 cr for road repairs
In Jaipur, most roads which are in a dilapidated condition are expected to be repaired this year as the Jaipur Municipal Corporation's (JMC) finance committee has proposed Rs 1 crore for repair works in each ward in the budget 2013-14.
Kochi’s Banerji Road widening work from Feb 18
Widening of the Banerji Road in Kochi city will be taken up by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on February 18 as part of the next phase of preparatory works for Kochi Metro. The contractors engaged for the road work have already started mobilising resources required to execute the work.
Hyd’s Srinagar Colony road declared a commercial one
In Hyderabad, Srinagar Colony main road has been declared a commercial road, paving the way for property owners to either construct or exploit their existing buildings for commercial use. Henceforth, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will allow shopping complexes, hotels, hospitals, retail shopping activities, service establishments, function halls and petro filling stations on the road.

NHAI to withdraw case against Ministry
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is to withdraw its case filed against the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) in the Supreme Court. NHAI, seeking relaxations in green norms for road projects, had filed the case against the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests.
AP to get 6,597 km rural roads under PMGSY
The Union government will provide financial assistance to develop roads linking rural habitations and in Naxalites affected districts in Andhra Pradesh. Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh informed the State Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy that Union Cabinet took important decisions regarding Prime Minister Grameena Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Andhra Pradesh during meeting held on February 7.

KSCC to build road at Rs 97-cr to ease traffic in Kochi
To ease traffic congestion from Vallarpadam to NH 17 at Paravoor, Kochi, the Kerala State Construction Corporation (KSCC) will construct a road from Chathanad-Moolampilly at Rs Rs 97-crore. The general council of Goshree Islands Development Authority (GIDA) held in Kochi on February 12 decided to this extent. It is to entrust the road construction. GIDA had earlier planned to give the project to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
