Macquarie SBI buys 74% stake in GMR road project in AP

To sell 74 per cent stake in GMR Jadcherla Expressways, GMR Highways has signed an agreement with Macquarie SBI Infrastructure Investments Pte and SBI Macquarie Infrastructure Trust. This GMR Group operates the GJEL Farukhnagar-Jadcherla highway in Andhra Pradesh, under a concession agreement signed with NHAI.

The Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) will submit the alignment of the proposed 64-km ring road connecting Chatiyath and Panangad before the Ports Department for approval. Since about 10.5 km stretch of the road between Chatiyath and Varapuzha passes through coastal areas, GCDA would require the approval from the Ports Department.

Work on the first phase of the signal-free stretch on Outer Ring Road of Delhi is expected to begin later this month. The Rs 559.6-crore project will include construction of a 3.3km elevated road from Vikaspuri to Meera Bagh that will zip over five intersections. The project, undertaken by the State Public Works Department (PWD), is part of a Rs 2,200 crore project that seeks to make the 17 km stretch from Vikaspuri to Wazirabad signal-free.
