With proposed construction of a a bridge across the Cauvery between two stations, Unniyur and Nerur near Tiruchirapalli or Trichy, at least 35 km distance will be reduced for commuters. The Tamil Nadu government has proposed to construct the bridge. The area residents have expressed happiness over the proposal.

Work to restart on COD railway bridge in Kanpur
Construction of incomplete COD railway over bridge in Kanpur would commence once again from December 25. The over bridge is under construction for the last four years. The Union Ministry of Urban Development has sanctioned another 685 buses for States/UTs under JnNURM. The approval was given at a meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee on bus funding and ancillary infrastructure projects under JnNURM in New Delhi recently.
BMC to implement area-wise parking rates
In Mumbai, a graded 'pay and park' scheme is to be implemented by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for the city suburbs within a month. BMC observed that the rates have jumped up to three times as ban on paid parking within 100 m of educational institutions and introduce permits for residents for street parking in the city.
Jaipur’s roads face lack of green cover
Rajasthan's capital Jaipur has no sufficient green cover. As per the Master Plan 2025, the city should have the mandatory 20 per cent green cover, but it has only 11.3 per cent of its area under green cover. As per Master Plan 25, the entry roads from Delhi, Ajmer, Sikar and Agra supposed to have green corridor of 30 to 45 metre on either side of the approach.

Manipur to build ring road to Imphal at Rs 240 cr
For construction of the proposed ring road of Greater Imphal at a cost of Rs 240 crore, the Manipur government has started the necessary groundwork. On December 11, the State Works Minister Kh Ratankumar, along with an inspection team, inspected the potential route for the proposed ring road for the State capital.
