Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has invited expression of interest from land owners who are interested in providing their land for a pooling scheme.

The authority launched land pooling scheme as a pilot project for an area of 250–300 acre near the Outer Ring Road and within one km belt on either side of the Growth Corridor Area.

HMDA has clarified and explained the guidelines and other details of the land pooling scheme to owners of land.

The Metropolitan Commissioner of HMDA would accept expression of interest from land owners in the prescribed format by September 16.

Under land pooling, HMDA would gather land parcels and develop required infrastructure in a planned manner. After this, the authority would return the land to owners after deducting the cost of the provision of the infrastructure and public places.

The land losers become partners in development. The scheme is broadly self-financing and can be implemented with the willingness of the majority of land owners as detailed in the guidelines.
