Indian Railways (IR) has carried 511 million tonne (mt) of revenue earning freight traffic during the first half of fiscal 2013. The freight carried shows an increase of 29.65 mt over the freight traffic of 481.35 mt actually carried during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 6.16 per cent.
