Mumbai Port handles all time high cargo

Surpassing the previous high of 59.19 Metric Million Tons of cargo handled in the year 2013-14, the Mumbai Port Trust in March created a new record of handling all time high cargo in its 141 years long history. With nearly a fortnight to go in current fiscal year, Mumbai Port Trust is expected to handle more than 61 MMT cargo in the year 2014-15. With this record handling, the Port would retain its position as the 4th largest major port in the country, in terms of tonnage handled.
