Gujarat Green Cess Bill, 2011 that stipulates levying a cess of Rs 0.02 per unit of electricity generated by power firms using non-renewable sources was passed by the state assembly. RE suppliers and generation companies with installed capacity of less than 1,000 KW have been exempted.
