NMDC's has moved closer in its bid to acquire a coal mine in the US which will feed its proposed steel plants in India. The properties are estimated to have reserves to the tune of 100-200 million tonne. NMDC is keen to secure coal for its captive needs for its steel project in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka.
