Qingdao, Lianyungang ports to up iron ore cooperation

In China, Qingdao Port (Group) Company and Lianyungang Port Group Company have got into an agreement to expand their strategic cooperation in iron ore businesses and build iron ore logistics system. Yard capacity at Qingdao port and Lianyuangang port is 15 million tonne and 7 million tonne respectively.

As on August 02, iron ore stockpiles at two above ports was 13.1 million tonne and 3 million tonne, accounting for 21 per cent iron ore stored at ports in the country. From August 1st to 15th 2013, 16.65 million tonne of iron ore is shipped to China of which 1.6 million tonne or 10 per cent is shipped to Qingdao port and 2.006 million tonne or 12 per cent shipped to Lianyungang port.
