ATC to acquire Tower Vision
In the telecom towers business, American Tower Corporation (ATC) is close to acquiring Tower Vision, a standalone telecom tower company owned by a group of international financial investors, for Rs 3,200 crore, a transaction that will enable the US company to significantly scale up its presence in India.
Cabinet nod for telecom towers at naxal-affected states
The Cabinet cleared setting up mobile towers at cost of around Rs 3,046 crore in nine states affected by naxal violence to improve communication. State-owned BSNL will set up towers at 2,199 locations in the nine states in next 12 months, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said after a Cabinet meeting.

Draft of offshore wind energy policy released
Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has released a draft national offshore wind energy policy for 2013. The draft policy was written with inputs from a steering committee on offshore wind energy. According to the draft, onshore wind energy has reached a stage of deployment that makes it competitive with traditional fossil fuel power generation.
