Litigation stalls work on NH-1 in Punjab: Govt
The stretch of National Highways (NH-1) between Shambhu and Amritsar falls in the jurisdiction of two projects namely Panipat to Jalandhar and Jalandhar to Amritsar, said Sarvey Sathyanarayana, Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in a reply to a question in Lok Sabha on December 9.

In Punjab's Adampur, a new domestic airport would be established to facilitate the Doaba region, especially NRIs. This was announced by the State Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on November 8 after laying foundation stones of various development works in Jalandhar worth Rs 50 crore.
AAI to finalise sites of low-cost airports in Punjab
Within a fortnight of the Union government announcing three low-cost airports in Punjab, a high-powered committee of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has arrived in the state to test the feasibility of the airports. On July 11, the four-member team led by Joint General Manager N Makhija arrived to check the economic and technical feasibility of constructing low-cost domestic airports in Patiala, Ferozepur, Jalandhar and Ludhiana.
