Currently, the demand is much less than the supply. We all have an installed capacity, but are not able to sort of utilise that fully because the demand still has to pick up locally.

Centre selects Vadodara-Mumbai-JNPT Corridor for upgradation
The Central government has selected the Vadodara to Mumbai National Highway corridor to be upgraded to an Expressway. The government has already approved the feasibility study for this corridor. Meanwhile, the entire stretch of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway is proposed to be constructed in three phases, that includes Vadodara to Talasari (phase I), Talasari to Shirsad and Shirsad-Panvel (phase II) and Shirsad to Dhisar (phase III).

NHAI to build roads connecting export hubs with ports
The NHAI is identifying highway projects connecting export hubs with port cities. The government has already identified industrial corridor Delhi-Mumbai, Amritsar-Kolkata, Chennai-Visakhapatnam and Chennai-Bengaluru to connect the hinterland with the ports.

Site clearance for NH bypass nearing completion
The site clearance for the widening of the National Highway-66 bypass stretch from Mukkola to Karode in the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border is nearing completion. The removal of trees, vegetation and other waste materials along the 16.5-km stretch is ĆĀ“70 per cent completeĆĀ“, thereby paving way for the development of the second reach of the bypass.
