Kerala proposes to set up maritime board, earmarks Rs 20 cr
For setting up Kerala Maritime Board (KMB), the Kerala government has submitted a proposal to the Union government. The proposed Board is intended to initiate all port-related activities and maritime cargo businesses in the state. The proposed KMB will come up at Maradu in Kochi with an initial investment of Rs 20 crore and will look at all possible avenues for port-related activities.
Proposal to stop toll collection on incomplete roads
A proposal has been made to the government to stop private developers from collecting toll on highway widening projects during the construction phase, if the project falls behind schedule. The proposal has been made by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and it is being studied by the Union Ministry for Road Transport and Highways.

Manipur govt mulls to widen all key roads in state
The Manipur government has sent a proposal to the Union government for upgradation of Jiribam-Churachandpur Road and widen all important roads in the state, the State Works Minister Kh Ratankumar said. The Minister was speaking as chief guest at a foundation laying ceremony for an RCC Bridge which is to be constructed over Khuga River to connect Lamjangphai and Thingchom in Churachandpur district on June 6.
Task force clears steel projects
A task force of the union government has reportedly cleared Rs 100.53 billion (bn) worth investment projects ,involving eight proposals. These projects include one steel plant and numerous pelletisation projects. Of these, Kalinga Steel Tech Pvt Ltd plans to set up a new integrated steel plant with a capacity of a 1.2 million tonne per annum in the Sundargarh district
