Tata Opportunities Fund, the investment arm of the Tata Group, which is advised by Tata Capital, invested Rs 335 crore in Tata Projects Limited (TPL), the company said.
TPL, the Hyderabad-headquartered engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services firm of the Tata group, has a total turnover of Rs 3,444 crore. The funds would be utilised for the expansion of the EPC firm. TOF has purchased secondary stakes from four Tata companies including Tata Steel, Indian Hotels Company and Tata International. TOFÃÂīs investment for a significant minority ownership marks the FundÃÂīs first transaction in the infrastructure services sector. The Fund seeks to play a supportive role in assisting Tata Projects in expanding its EPC services franchise with existing and new customers across segments and geographies, the company said in a statement.
