Seven out of 67 coal mines auctioned and allotted recently have begun operations while the remaining blocks are at various stages of development, according to the government. Minister of State for Coal, Power and New and Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal also said it may not be possible to estimate the yield from the 204 coal mines which were de-allocated earlier. He added the government has taken proactive measures to ensure that statutory clearances are transferred to the successful bidders and allottees expeditiously.
