Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has jointly taken initiative to organise India Maritime 2012 – an international exhibition and conference to provide a platform to the ports, shipping, marine technology, ship building & repair, logistics and allied industries to interact and explore new business avenues. India Maritime 2012 is scheduled to be held from 17-20 October 2012 at Goa. The maritime event includes international conference on maritime sector, four days international exhibition on maritime sector, CEO’s forum etc.

The international maritime conference will deliberate on diverse topics relating to policy and regulatory regime, issues & challenges, global best practices during the event. The event would provide tremendous opportunities for enhancing brand value of the participating companies, networking with policy makers, senior government officials and leading maritime players around the globe. It will also provide you insights from global experts and give first-hand information on latest marine technology, upcoming port infrastructure projects in the country etc. This would be an ideal platform to meet potential customers/business partners and strengthen relationships with existing clients in the maritime sector.

India Maritime 2012 will attract stakeholders including government agencies, regulatory authorities, cargo hand­ling-logistic service provider, classification societies, dred­ging companies, electronic/communications & IT, financial institutions, financiers & insurers, freight forwarders & logistic companies, Indian navy and coast guards, marine engineering & equipment, marine technology provider, maritime crewing/manning/recruitment agents, maritime institutions & services, naval architects & designers, navi­gation equipment & aids, offshore suppliers, port and mari­time agents, port and terminal equipment service provider, port and waterways engineering, port authorities, port construction & facilities, propulsion systems-pumps & valves, safety, rescue, survival & security equipment, ship builders & repairers, ship managers, ship owners, ship regi­strars & consultants, shippers, shipping agents & bro­kers, shipping lines, terminal operators, workboat builders and other having interest in maritime sector.

Maritime transport, which plays a vital role in the deve­lopment of the country, comprises ports, shipping, ship­building and ship repair, and inland water transport sys­tems. Around 95 per cent of India’s trade by volume and 70 per cent by value are moved through maritime transport.
