An 18 meter wide road will be constructed in Kiwale in Pimpri Chinchwad city at an expenditure of Rs 2.21 crore by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). A proposal seeking approval for the work will be tabled before the standing committee meeting to be held on November 20, said Makrand Nikam, Executive Engineer, PCMC.

PCMC will be constructing an 18 meter wide road linking Bapdevnagar (Siddhivinayak colony) to Aundh – Ravet road along the nullah. Bids were invited for the work from June 15 to July 7. A total of eight bids were received. The lowest bid of Rs 2.21 crore has been accepted. He added that the work order will be given to the contractor after the approval of the standing committee.

The project is expected to be completed in one year after the work order is issued. The rapidly developing areas of Kiwale and Ravet near the Pune-Lonavala rail route will be linked to the 45 meter wide Aundh-Ravet road. People of these areas will be able to further reach Katraj – Dehu Road bypass, Pune-Mumbai highway and Mumbai – Pune Expressway”, said Nikam.
