Sarvey Sathyanarayana has taken over as Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways. Sathyanarayana is Member of Parliament, (Lok Sabha) from Malkajgiri (Andhra Pradesh) constituency. Born on April 4, 1954 in Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Sathyanarayana did his graduation from Osmania University, Hyderabad, and did Master in Law from Evening College of Law, Abids, Hyderabad. Sathyanarayana was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha in 2004 and re-elected to the 15th Lok Sabha (second term) in the year 2009.
Sathyanarayana has served as Member of various Parliamentary Committees which included Committee on Public Undertaking, Committee on Industry, Committee on Finance and Committee on Petitions. He was also Member of various Consultative Committees like Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Housing, Poverty Alleviation and Tourism. He was also Member of Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh during 1985-89 and held position as Member, HUDA (Andhra Pradesh), Member, Traffic Board (Andhra Pradesh) and Member, Committee on Public Undertaking Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
Sathyanarayana has been taking part in various social and cultural activities which include social work, helping the poorest of the poor and down-trodden strata of the society.
