Refinery output of Indian Oil Corp (IOC) exceeded the target for 2012-13 and its 10 refineries operated at 100.7 per cent of their installed capacity, the firm said in a statement.
The refineries processed a total of 54.6 million tonne (mn t) of crude oil compared to the target of 54.25 mn t. Despite planned maintenance shut downs, the company achieved over 100 percent capacity utilisation for the sixth year in a row, IOC Director (Refineries) RajKumar Ghosh said.
Refineries recorded highest-ever combined distillate yield at 78.1 per cent, surpassing the previous best of 77.8 per cent last year. IOC’s Gujarat and Panipat refineries recorded the highest ever distillate yield of 78.2 and 82.4 per cent respectively, surpassing the previous best of 78.0 and 82.3 per cent in 2011-12.
Company’s 10 refineries produced 2.12 million tonne of LPG, 5.80 million tonne of petrol and 24.46 million tonne of diesel in 2012-13. In addition, they produced 1.292 million tonne of Euro-IV petrol and 3.86 million tonne of Euro-IV diesel.
This year, the firm plans to commission 15 mn t per annum Paradip refinery in Orissa.
