Portman India has collaborated with
UK-based Nectar Group and entered into 50:50 joint venture (JV) contract with it for professional services in design, development and operations of ports and terminals in India.
Portman is a Chennai-based specialist in improvement and operations of ports and terminals. Portman said that Portman Nector joint venture is to tap IndiaÂ’s huge trade opportunity. The throughput of all commodities in India is likely to grow to 2.49 billion tonne a year by 2020 from 1 billion tonne now.
Such growth in Indian ports calls for an important boost in port capacities, Portman said.
