The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has submitted a revised proposal to the Madhya Pradesh state wildlife wing seeking clearance for 37-km road widening between Mansar in Maharashtra and Khawasa in Madhya Pradesh on NH7. In the revised proposal, the NHAI has reduced the land requirement for the project.

Over objections raised by greens and State forest department, widening of the stretch is stuck as the road cuts through wildlife corridor. NHAI has sought 49.246 hectares forest land to widen the road from two lanes to four.
