Kerala government is taking all measures for ensuring maritime safety, said the State Minister for Ports K Babu. He was speaking at the 15th meeting of the Maritime State Development Council held in Bangalore recently.
The Minister stated that international Ship and Ports Facility Security Code audit has been carried out in all operational ports such as Vizhinjam, Kollam, Beypore and Azhikkal. The code will be implemented at Valiyathura, Kodungallur and Azhikkal ports during this year, according to the Minister.
A ship tracking system will be established at Beypore and Kollam during this fiscal year. This system helps monitor vessel position, course and speed.
