Encouraged by the feat of getting almost 30,000 acres of land in only three months to build a new capital near Vijayawada, the Andhra Pradesh Government is looking at adopting the land pooling model for all large public private partnership infrastru-¡cture projects in the state.
The success of the land pooling model comes as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government at the Centre struggles to change the law to make land acquisition easier. The NDA Government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu´s alliance partner, had issued an ordinance to amend the law, which expires next month.
