Sputnik News launches branded train on Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line, expanding its footprint in India’s urban media landscape.
In over two decades, the Delhi Metro has emerged as the lifeline of the National Capital Region, which has an estimated population of over 46 million based on government projections. Every day, more than 6 million people commute in the metro system of the world’s fastest-growing major economy.
Even in the age of mobile screens, the Delhi Metro remains a powerful live medium for brand visibility. Leading Indian and global companies have long leveraged its reach to advertise products and campaigns. Success in Delhi often translates into national recognition.
Sputnik News, a state-run international news agency and radio service under the Rossiya Segodnya group, is the latest to tap into the capital’s transport ecosystem. A fully branded train from Sputnik’s international news agency and radio service is now running on the Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line.
This high-footfall corridor connects key nodes such as New Delhi Railway Station, Rajiv Chowk, and Central Secretariat, serving over 1.5 million riders daily.
Sputnik News broadcasts in more than 30 languages and runs 24 multimedia centres globally. Its radio service reaches audiences in 20 countries across 14 languages.
The agency’s Indian division, Sputnik India, was launched in December 2022. With editorial hubs in Moscow and Delhi, it produces content in English and Hindi. Sputnik India has a news website and an X account that reaches up to 36 million users monthly.
