This is the second major nationwide dedication of redeveloped stations, following May 2025, when Modi inaugurated 103 Amrit Bharat Stations across 18 states and union territories.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday dedicated 75 redeveloped railway stations to the nation under the flagship Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), part of one of the largest station redevelopment programmes globally.

This marks the second major nationwide dedication under ABSS. In May 2025, Modi had inaugurated 103 redeveloped Amrit Bharat Stations across 18 states and union territories.

Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “75 Amrit Stations across 20 states—every station tells the story of its region! PM Shri @narendramodi Ji has dedicated world‑class stations to the nation—where modern passenger amenities blend with local heritage and architecture.”

The redeveloped stations have been transformed into modern, passenger‑centric transit hubs with enhanced amenities, improved accessibility, and architecture reflecting local and regional heritage, while incorporating future‑ready infrastructure.

Nationwide, the newly inaugurated 75 stations across 20 states have been redeveloped at a combined cost of approximately â‚č15.7 billion.

Launched in December 2022, ABSS is a long‑term, phased master‑planning initiative to redevelop railway stations into modern city centres rather than one‑off facelifts.

As of now, redevelopment works have been completed at 261 railway stations under ABSS. The scheme envisages the redevelopment of 1,340 stations across the country in phases, with works at the remaining stations progressing at various stages.

Upgrades under ABSS include improved station buildings and waiting halls, wider foot‑over‑bridges and air concourses, better circulation and parking areas, accessible design features, modern signage and passenger‑information systems, executive lounges, and, where feasible, sustainable and city‑integrated design.
