Apollo Hospitals to Operate 24×7 Medical Centre at Navi Mumbai Airport

The partnership strengthens NMIA’s emergency preparedness and medical response capabilities ahead of the commencement of commercial operations at India’s newest mega-airport.

Navi Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd (NMIAL), the operator of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Apollo Hospitals, Mumbai, to deliver comprehensive, round-the-clock healthcare services for airport employees and passengers.

The partnership strengthens NMIA’s emergency preparedness and medical response capabilities ahead of the commencement of commercial operations.

Located just 4 km from the airport, Apollo Hospitals, Mumbai, is one of the region’s most advanced multispecialty healthcare institutions. Under the agreement, the hospital will establish a 24×7 medical centre at Terminal 1 of India’s newest mega-airport.

The centre will be equipped with emergency medical support and disaster management facilities. It will be staffed by a highly skilled team comprising three doctors, eight nursing staff and two drivers, ensuring continuous medical readiness. All medical personnel will be advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS)-certified, guaranteeing the highest standards of critical care at NMIA.

In addition, NMIA will house two fully equipped intensive care unit (ICU) ambulances, stationed on-site for immediate emergency response. Sixty-five automated external defibrillators (AEDs) will also be strategically installed across the terminals to enable rapid intervention during cardiac emergencies.
