The collaboration aims to build a long‑term framework for joint initiatives in research, technology integration, and skill development.
Amid India’s growing focus on industry‑academia collaboration, the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corp. of India Ltd (DFCCIL) and ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad, have signed an MoU to advance research, innovation, and skill development in supply chain management, logistics, and warehousing.
The agreement was signed by Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director of Operations & Business Development, DFCCIL, and Tamma Koti Reddy, Vice Chancellor, IFHE, in the presence of Praveen Kumar, Managing Director, DFCCIL.
DFCCIL, a member of the International Heavy Haul Association, has partnered with IFHE due to its strong research ecosystem in logistics, transportation systems, and emerging technologies. Through IcfaiTech, the institution undertakes specialised research in robotics, AI, data analytics, and vehicle dynamics, areas that align closely with modern railway technologies and smart freight operations.
Senior officials from both organisations stated that the collaboration will establish a long-term framework for joint initiatives in research, technology integration, and professional skill development. The partnership seeks to strengthen industry‑academia engagement and promote research‑driven solutions to address emerging challenges in freight transportation and logistics.
Aligned with the Skill India Mission, the collaboration will design and deliver short‑term training programmes, executive development modules, and certification courses on emerging technologies for DFCCIL personnel, helping build a future‑ready workforce equipped with industry‑relevant skills and technological capabilities.
Both institutions will also organise joint workshops, seminars, conferences, and innovation forums to share research findings, technical expertise, and global best practices across logistics and supply chain management.
