The refreshed attire carries Air India Express’s ‘Tales of India’ initiative from aircraft tails into daily guest interactions.
Air India Express has introduced new uniforms for its cabin crew and frontline staff across its network, unveiling a fresh look that reflects the airline’s evolving identity and its transformation of the guest experience. Rolled out from September 1, the uniforms cover cabin crew, airport services, aviation security, and flight operations teams.
The refreshed attire extends Air India Express’s ‘Tales of India’ initiative beyond aircraft and into everyday guest interactions. The airline’s distinctive tail art, inspired by India’s indigenous art forms and crafts, now finds expression in the uniforms through design elements drawn from Tamil Nadu’s Kanjeevaram, Himachal Pradesh’s Pattu, Gujarat’s Patola, Assam’s Gamosa, and Madhya Pradesh’s Bagh. Contemporary silhouettes inspired by the traditional kurti, complemented by tailored jackets, scarves, and pocket squares, blend Indian sensibilities with modern design.
Sunil Suresh, Head of Marketing, E‑Commerce & Loyalty, Air India Group, said, “Our frontline teams shape some of the most memorable moments in every guest’s journey, and these new uniforms are designed to reflect their energy, professionalism, and warmth. More than a refreshed look, they represent how Air India Express has evolved over the past few years, creating a consistent experience across our aircraft, airports, and onboard service while staying rooted in the warmth and vibrance that define us.”
Anchored in the airline’s vibrant Xpress Blue palette and accented with its signature Xpress Orange, the uniforms seek to create a visual connection with the brand’s identity and guest experience.
Designed in‑house by Air India Express’s own designer, Pooja Krishnan, the project brings an insider’s perspective shaped by a deep understanding of frontline operations. Krishnan led the design for female cabin crew, airport services, aviation security, and flight operations personnel, while the men’s cabin crew uniform was developed in collaboration with Trent Ltd, the Tata group‑owned retailer.
Crafted from banana‑crepe fabric, the uniforms combine comfort, breathability, durability, and elegant drape to meet the practical demands of airline operations while maintaining a refined aesthetic.
