AGL to set up mother station for CNG

Reports suggest that AGL (Awantika Gas), which is a distributor of gas in Ujjain, would set up a mother station for compressed natural gas (CNG) on the land to be handed over by the state government.

It is learnt that the firm would complete the project in a few months after it receives possession of the land, which was handed over to the Industries department
by the district Collector BM Sharma. AGL will have to pay just around Rs 30 lakhs for the plot as per industrial rates.

It may be recalled that the project got delayed because of issues in procuring land.on land in Nagziri area only owing to technical reasons. The then collector M Geeta had awarded the 30,000 sq ft land in 2011 to Awantika Gas at guideline rates premium which comes out to be around Rs 3.2 crore plus annual lease rent of Rs 24 lakh.

But AGL refused to accept the land arguing that it could not pay such a big sum and argued that land in Indore was provided at industrial rate for the mother station.

Reports indicate that vehicles including public transport vans, magic, and auto rickshaws besides cars that run on CNG have been been facing hardships owing to shortage of fuel.

More retail points at different petrol pumps besides one at the station itself could be started for facilitating the users, sources said.
