OVL bars Chinese firm from buying state in Brazilian oilfield
Indian-government owned ONGC Videsh (OVL) has blocked a Chinese company from acquiring a stake in the Brazilian oilfields by utilising its pre-emptive right. The Brazilian State-owned Petrobras had planned to sell its 35 per cent state in block BC-10 in the Campos Basin to the Chinese Sinochem group for $1.54 billion. OVL, has a 15 per cent stake in BC-10, along with Royal Dutch Shell company.
MoEF to consider clearances for Kerala’s 3 key projects
The Centre has cleared three key projects in Kerala. They are: Re-development activities and the two-laning of Alappuzha bypass and two-laning Kollam bypass and the proposed Vizhinjam international container transshipment terminal by Vizhinjam International Seaport.
Govt to set up panel to track progress of e’way projects
To track progress of expressway projects, the Union government is to set up a monitoring committee. The move follows when the government found lacking in multiple aspects of three road projects, which were put on fast track by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The Prime Minister's Office had taken note of this and decided to set up the panel.

Railways to build road overbridges at select level-crossings
Union Minister of Railways Mallikarjun Kharge has stated that Indian Railways has decided to construct road overbridges (RoBs) at level-crossings based on feasibility studies. The RoBs would be commissioned wherever train-vehicle unit is greater than one lakh count, he added. Kharge was in Puducherry in connection with the launch of the new TirupatiĆāPuducherry weekly express on September 17.
Uttarakhand gives high priority to road repairs
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to carry out repair and maintenance of roads in the state. The prolonged monsoon and heavy rains caused extensive damage to the roads and now as the monsoon had come to an end, the maintenance and repair of roads should be taken on priority, the Chief Minister said.
Rs 5,749 cr budget recommended for IMCs on corridor
For the seven integrated manufacturing clusters (IMC) to be set up along the Amritsar-Delhi-Kolkata corridor, Rs 5,749 crore Central budgetary commitment has been recommended by an inter-ministerial panel. It recommended the fund support for a period of 15 years.
Flyover at Hero Honda Chowk to ease traffic woes
To bring a relief to commuters at the Hero Honda Chowk crossing mess on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, the Union Highways Ministry and Haryana government have agreed to construct a flyover at a cost of Rs 100 crore on the existing highway.
Indian firms abroad investments fall to $ 1.94 bn in Aug
Amid the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) tightening norms, overseas investment by Indian companies declined sharply to $1.94 billion in August. The RBI has clamped norms for outbound investments by the domestic firms to contain rupee slide. A month ago in July, the Indian firms had invested $ 3.24 billion in their various entities overseas.
