State-run exploration firm Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is preparing the Declaration of Commerciality (DoC) for its deepwater discoveries in the Krishna Godavari Basin. GAIL India faces delay in pipeline project
The 900 km gas pipeline project of GAIL India is facing delay because of land acquisition issue in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It is learnt that GAIL has so far completed only 30 km of the pipeline. IOC to get Rs 42 bn cash subsidy for Q1
India's State-owned fuel retailing oil company, Indian Oil Corp is to get cash payment for the fiscal first quarter subsidy from the government on September 17, the company's officials said on August 26. The Union government provides the subsidy to its fuel retailers-Indian Oil Corp, Hindustan Petroleum Corp (HPCL.NS) and Bharat Petroleum Corp (BPCL.NS) to sell diesel, kerosene and cooking gas at discounted rates to the poor and tame inflation.
TIL vie for Rs 8,200 cr JNPT terminal contract
After buying a 50 per cent stake in a container-loading facility at Mundra port in Gujarat in last July, Terminal Investment Ltd SA (TIL) , majority owned by Mediterranean Shipping Co SA (MSC), is looking to expand in India further. Terminal Investment Limited SA (TIL) invests in, develops and manages container terminals around the world. The company was founded in 2000 to secure berths and terminal capacity in the major ports used by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).
Colombo ports south container terminal opens
Commercial operations of the International Port of Colombo South Container Terminal Project at Colombo Port was flagged off on August 5. The new terminal has been constructed by China Communications Construction Company, Zhenhua Heavy Industries, FHDI Engineering Company and Third Highway Engineering Company. With $300 million cost the project has been constructed in 28 months.
L&Ts Kattupalli container terminal to start from Sept 19
The Larsen & Toubro's container terminal project constructed at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore at Kattupalli, near Chennai, is to go on commercial stream from September. The project has been delayed nearly for two years. It is expected that the new terminal will take away major chunk of container traffic from the Chennai port.
Centre to develop two new major ports in AP, WB
The Government has decided to develop two new major ports with private participation under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Mode, one at Dugarajapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and the other at Sagar Island in West Bengal, said the Union Minister of Shipping GK Vasan in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on August 26.

India has 4,786 rail stations with more than 2 platforms
In the country, the total number of railway stations having two or more platforms are 4786. So far, 56 railway stations have been equipped with 153 escalators including Metro Railway Kolkata and suburban section of Chennai, said the Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha recently.
