The present peak power requirement of Indian Railways is around 4000 mega watt (mw). Preliminary discussions have been held with Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) for exploring the possibility of setting up of a nuclear power plant of 1,400 mw capacity in Joint Venture with them.

NHAI drops highway projects worth Rs 4,000 cr
As the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) could not acquire land required for road construction, it has scrapped highway projects worth Rs 4,000 crore in Goa and Kerala states. India, China to tie-up to cooperate in road sector

Rs 5,000 cr needed to restore roads & bridges in U’khand

Only 52 potholes on 652 newly-built Mumbai roads: Report
Mumbai's 652 newly-constructed roads have only 52 potholes, SGS India private Ltd, a Switzerland - based third party auditor, has stated in its report submitted to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. According to the report, it found only 52 potholes, which disturbed just a fraction Ćā 0.028 per cent Ćā of the total area of roads built by contractors under its supervision.

Swift repair to caved-in key road in Mumbai
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has restored the caved-in road portion of Netaji Subhashchandra Marg, near Girgaum Chowpatty in the city. The road portion was caved in because of a pipeline burst on the morning of August 24. Now the road has been reopened for traffic.

Govt clears Rs 1 lakh cr infra projects
The Union government on August 26 cleared Rs 1 lakh crore infrastructure projects which include projects under shipping and ports sector.
