Volvo buses round the clock for Kolkata airport
In Kolkata, passengers flying in and out of the city airport would soon be able to avail Volvo bus service round the clock. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) on July 30.
In addition to a luxury ride in sprawling Volvo buses, the fliers would also be in line to get a proper lowdown on taxi fares from a touch screen kiosk to be installed by the Bidhannagar police in the airport premises.
Haryana’s Hisar, Karnal to have domestic airports

Banks in India borrowed Rs 26.5 billion ($435 million) from the Reserve Bank of India's marginal standing facility window on July 30. Gold imports down in June, July, says Chidambaram
Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram said on July 31 that gold imports into India were lower in June and July when compared to the same period last year. India is hoping to contain gold imports well below 845 tonne that were shipped last year, Chidambaram said, a week after the central bank restricted imports further, by tying imports to exports volumes. To achieve a growth of around 25-30 per cent over the next couple of years, non-banking finance company (NBFC) Shriram City Union Finance plans to raise around Rs 1,000 crore issuing debentures and through other debt this fiscal, the company said on July 31. Net profit of Karnataka Bank rose 12.87 per cent to Rs 94.17 crore during Apr-Jun 2013 compared to Rs 83.43 crore in the year-ago period.
