Dredging Corporation of India´s (DCI) proposal to deploy its fleet in Dubai has not evoked much interest within the Union Shipping Ministry. The DCI has been advised to concentrate on dredging within India before venturing into foreign countries.

Second CFS comes up in Kochi near ICTT
In Kochi, the second container freight station (CFS) near the international container transshipment terminal (ICTT) at Vallarpadam is nearing completion. Govt accords nod to 574 SEZ proposals

Govt announces National Manufacturing Policy
The Government of India has announced the National Manufacturing Policy on November 4, 2011 with the objective of enhancing the share of manufacturing in GDP to 25 per cent and creating 100 million jobs over a decade or so, said the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry EM Sudarsana Natchiappan in Rajya Sabha on December 11.
