India to respond to US notice on solar mission
India will respond within 10 daysĂâ time to the United StatesĂâ notice challenging India's domestic content requirements for its national solar programme as violation of global trade rules. The US, on February 6 filed an official dispute against India at the WTO claiming that the domestic sourcing rules flouted global trade norms. It has asked for consultations with India on the matter.
Gujarat seeks more central aid for renewable projects
To promote renewable energy projects further in the state, Gujarat government has demanded more Central assistance and incentive through policy changes. The State government is heavily focusing on the solar and other renewable energy power generation. The request to the Union government was made at the Power Minister's Conference held at New Delhi on February 5.
Haryana appeals for more coal to run its power plants
The Haryana government on February 5 has urged the Centre to initiate steps to make policy changes to make available sufficient quantity of coal for power plants situated in the state, Haryana Power Minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav said.
