The Yamuna Expressway Authority has said that it has cancelled the building plans of 17 projects in its area. The plans were cancelled after it came to light that the five builders concerned had not cleared some objections raised by the authority regarding the building plans between 2014 and 2016. While 11 projects have been initiated by the Jaypee Group, six other projects include those launched by some leading developers of the region.

Record 47,350 km of PMGSY roads constructed in 2016-17
A record 47,350 km of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) roads was constructed during 2016-17. This is the highest construction of PMGSY roads in a single year, in the last seven years. While 25,316 km of PMGSY roads were constructed in 2013-14, road construction in 2014-15 was 36,337 km and in 2015-16, it was 36,449 km.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has opened one side of the flyover from Delhi to Jaipur at Hero Honda Chowk on NH-8. The work on the entire flyover is being completed at a fast pace, and is likely to be open to the public by June 30th. The move is expected to ease congestion and reduce traffic snarls and thus benefit residents of the nearby sectors.
