Under the agreement, both companies will explore opportunities in renewable energy generation and supply, combining their expertise to meet the evolving needs of C&I consumers.

Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL), one of India’s leading City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies, and Fourth Partner Energy Pvt. Ltd. (FPEL), a leading renewable energy developer, have signed an MoU to jointly explore opportunities for the generation and supply of renewable energy solutions, primarily for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers within MGL’s geographical areas.

The MoU was signed by Manas Das, Vice President of Business Development, Strategic Tie‑Ups, Commercial and Business Information Systems, MGL, and Jay Kumar Waghela, CEO of Distributed Business, FPEL, on Thursday. Praveer Kumar Srivastava, Managing Director, MGL, Ajay Sinha, Deputy Managing Director, MGL, and Saif Dhorajiwala, Co‑Founder & Executive Director, FPEL, were also present during the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Srivastava said, “This collaboration with FPEL reflects MGL’s continued focus on expanding its clean energy portfolio and contributing towards sustainable development through innovative and environmentally friendly energy solutions. MGL is already a provider of cleaner fuel to industries and commercial establishments, and this collaboration will enable MGL to explore and offer clean energy solutions to its customers.”

The collaboration aims to evaluate and develop clean and sustainable energy solutions for businesses, in line with the growing demand for environmentally responsible energy alternatives and India’s transition towards a greener economy.

FPEL’s Dhorajiwala added, “Indian corporates are racing to adopt an integrated energy portfolio spanning renewable power, battery storage, procurement flexibility and advanced management capabilities instead of relying on the traditional grid alone to meet their requirements. This partnership with MGL will help us jointly deliver reliable, cost‑effective, low‑carbon solutions to businesses.”

Under the MoU, both companies will jointly assess opportunities in renewable energy generation and supply, leveraging their respective expertise and capabilities to cater to the evolving energy requirements of C&I consumers.
