NHAI to let firms to start projects after land acquisition

The National Highways Authority of India ( NHAI) has decided on rolling out projects only after the contract companies have substantial land required for the project and are given environmental clearance.

The Authority’s senior officials said that this is a conscious decision, taken considering that projects get exceptionally delayed due to non-availability of land and green clearances.

An official concerned said that now there is a message from the top that the Authority must get things under control by the time project starts. Small stretches of incomplete roads jeopardise the entire project, the official said.
