Reliance Infrastructure, which operates the Delhi-Agra section of NH-2, has sought help from the Haryana government following several incidents of vandalism and ransacking that has put employees´ lives ¨under threat¨.
In a letter to the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, DA Toll Road Pvt Ltd, a special purpose vehicle of Reliance Infrastructure, said: ¨Right from the inception in October 2012, a large section of commercial vehicle owners backed by local miscreants have indulged in making unauthorised entry and exit from the project highway without paying any toll.¨
There has been a rise in a number of manhandling cases of the toll staff, threat to their life and damages to toll plaza assets in addition to prevention from collecting toll, the company added.
