Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu unveiled ‘Mission 41k’ during a roundtable discussion with external stakeholders on energy initiatives taken up by the Indian Railways. Prabhu said that the Ministry of Railways had come up with Mission 41k to save Rs 41,000 crore in the next decade in Railways’ energy costs.

Centre plans integrated public transit hubs
An MoU has been entered into between the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Urban Development for integrated planning of railway stations in the cities included in the Smart Cities and AMRUT scheme.
