Centre okays 6,418 km roads for Arunachal
Under Phase A and the Arunachal package of the Special Accelerated Road Development Project-North East (SARDP-NE), the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved construction of 6,418 km of road, said the Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Sarvey Sathyanarayana.

There is a uniform policy for levying and collection of user toll for highways in the country, said Sarvey Sathyanarayana, the Minister of State of Road Transport and Highways in Lok Sabha recently. According to him, the Union government has notified the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates & Collection) Rules, 2008 on December 5 in 2008, as amended from time to time, for the projects taken up on or after 05.12.2008.

Six-laning of Gurgaon-Kotputli stretch on NH-8 delayed
The Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Sarvey Sathyanarayana has said that the six-laning work on Gurgaon-Kotputli stretch on National Highway No 8 has been delayed. The main reasons for delay are due to slow progress during construction by Concessionaire, delay in the land acquisition, delay in Forest Clearance, delay in removal of religious and other structures & additional works in the project scope owing to public representations etc.
