Rehabilitation of road network in natural calamity-hit Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh is continuing by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO). As per the latest figures, the BRO has pressed into service more than 120 excavators and bulldozers in the rehabilitation works. About 30 km of road in the area has to be made afresh. Around 4,000 BRO personnel and laborers are working to complete the task on war footing.

BRO takes up rehabilitation in flood jolted U’khand
Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has take up a massive road rehabilitation programme in the entire Uttarakhand area. To put all efforts in correct perspective, it is said that in the entire Uttarakhand as per assessment made, a total of about 13 km length of road at 100 places have been breached. Rebuilding highways in U’khand may take 3-4 months
In Uttarakhand, it will take at least 3-4 months to rebuild highways damaged by the recent floods. All national and state highways in the Garhwal region have been damaged with road-owing agencies reporting at least 100 stretches impacted by landslides, breaches or submergence. Uttarakhand govt to introduce housing policy
In order to clear some of the impediments to housing projects in the state, Uttarakhand government decided to introduce a Housing and Urban Development policy. The proposed policy would be prepared and a separate authority with zonal units will be set up to remove the usual bottlenecks faced by people in clearance of housing maps both in private and group housing projects, simplifying the
