In a first for any Indian airport, Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has launched ‘DEL Vibes’, an experiential initiative celebrating India’s artistic heritage while elevating the passenger experience.
The immersive platform offers domestic and international travellers a vibrant introduction to India’s classical music, dance and crafts. With programming across all terminals, ‘DEL Vibes’ transforms wait time into a soulful cultural encounter.
DIAL is operated by a GMR Aero-led consortium managing Indira Gandhi International Airport in the national capital.
Commenting on the initiative, Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of DIAL, said, “DEL Vibes is our way of offering every traveller a taste of India’s cultural richness before they leave the airport. It reflects our vision not only to operate India’s busiest transit hub, but to create memorable experiences for passengers.”
Curated around three core pillars of music, dance and hands-on experiences, DEL Vibes features live performances of Indian classical dance forms such as Kathak and Bharatanatyam, along with musical renditions using instruments like the tar shehnai, santoor, sitar and sarangi. Travellers can join craft sessions, workshops and artist-led demonstrations, turning the airport into a window into living heritage.
The initiative also aims to ease stress and anxiety among first-time flyers by cultivating an engaging and calming atmosphere. Programmes run daily from 10 am to 6 pm.
Previously, the airport has commissioned installations evoking India’s rich heritage, including twelve mudra sculptures at Terminal 3, a 12-foot surya namaskar statue, murals by contemporary artists and curated exhibitions featuring work from renowned Indian painters and sculptors.
