Reports indicate that KPMG, the financial consultant for the proposed international airport at Mopa in Goa, is working on the revenue model for the airport. The state government plans to implement the project on the public-private-partnership (PPP) model and it set up a special PPP cell for the purpose of handing such PPP projects

Centre signs 3 MoUs with state govts for rail projects
During the last three years and current year, three Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) have been signed for construction of new railway lines with State Governments of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. Seeking to attract developers to new construction projects the Union Roads Ministry has proposed easing norms for road builders. The Ministry has sent a note to the Cabinet Committee on Investment suggesting an early exit for road developers.

Etihad, Jet tie up for wet lease
India's second largest airline by market share, Jet Airways has leased a wide body aircraft along with 60 of its cabin crew to Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways, a move that indicates a burgeoning partnership, even before the two airlines ink an equity stake sale. In aviation terms, a wet lease of an aircraft is an arrangement whereby the lessor, in this instance Jet, provides crew, maintenance and aircraft for a consideration.
AirAsia-Tata JV gets Indian govt’s nod
The Union government on March 26 stated that it had cleared Malaysian budget carrier AirAsiaĆās proposal to start a passenger airline in India in partnership with the Tata Group, with an investment of Rs 81 crore. The proposal was cleared by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB).
India to be 3rd largest aviation market by 2020: Govt
The Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ajit Singh said that India would be the third largest aviation market by 2020. The Minister was addressing senior representatives of the aviation industry in Delhi on the occasion of Aviation Day on March 26. India's airports would be handling 336 million domestic and 85 million international passengers with projected investment to the tune of US$ 120 billion by 2020.

India allows lessors to repossess Kingfisher planes
Kingfisher's 15 planes have been deregistered by the Indian civil aviation regulator DGCA paving the way for global leasing companies to take them back and easing worries that the dispute might hurt purchases by other Indian carriers. The move comes a day after officials from German bank DVB, one of the largest global aviation financing banks, met DGCA chief Arun Mishra to press for deregistration of the two aircraft.
Trichy airport makes profit, AAI denies privatisation
The profit-making Tiruchirappalli/Trichy airport should be provided all its needs, to make it truly international, GK Chaukiyal, member (operations) of Airports Authority of India, said on March 27. Chaukiyal said the AAI was controlling around 125 airports in the country and only 10 or 12 are making profits. However, Chaukiyal denied the Trichy airport was one of the 11 airports listed for privatisation.
