Delhi Metro gets Rs.1,007 cr for phase-III
The NDA Government has allotted Rs 1006.64 as equity for the Phase III project of Delhi metro in the Union Budget recently, reflecting a hike of 22 percent with over Rs 4,200 crore being allotted to it.
Bangalore Metro to chug through tunnel
Though Namma Metro is preparing for a June-launch of services between Magadi Road and Mysore Road on the East-West Corridor, for the first time in the history of the Bengaluru Metro project, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) will run a train through a tunnel on March 12.
PPP model of airport development lauded
Public-private partnership (PPP) in the development of airports has been flagged as ´one of the significant achievements´ in the civil aviation sector, in the Economic Survey 2014-15. The Survey points out that the PPP model has led to a significant improvement in infrastructure and in collection of revenue.
Railways hopeful of higher GDP growth
Indian Railways´ target of increasing freight tonnage by an incremental 85 million tonnes (mt) in 2015-16, against the traditional annual average of 50 mt, might appear ambitious, but the national transporter believes achieving such growth will not be a big task.

Govt allocates funds for Pune Metro
The Union Government has a plan outlay of Rs 126.58 crore, equity of Rs 70.38 crore and loans of Rs 56.20 crore for the Pune Metro rail in the 2015-16 budget.
Airport, Metro projects will add Rs.1,450 crore to GDP
According to the audit by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), big-ticket projects of airport-related infrastructure and Mumbai Metro will contribute Rs 1,450 crore in income to country´s gross domestic product during the entire construction phase (2014-15 to 2018-19).
