The Trivandrum Development Authority (TRIDA) has decided to go ahead with the second phase of the Capital Region Development plan, providing outer ring roads to the city. The Kerala government is only in the final stages of selecting a transaction advisor for the plan. The empowered committee headed by the Chief Secretary is in the process of shortlisting the advisor for preparing a detailed project report, Chairman of the Authority PK Venugopal said.

Tourist facilities to dot TN’s highways
The Tamil Nadu government is taking initiative to develop facilities at its tourist spots and generate further revenue. The Tamil Nadu Tourism Department plans to provide tourist-friendly facilities along highways by establishing high-standard amenities at an interval of 50 km. Govt to auction blocks under NELP in FY14
Oil Minister M Veerappa Moily informed a panel that the government would auction exploration area of about 2.7 lakh sq km under New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP) in 2013-14 once necessary approvals are in place.
