NHAI to award 4,000 km of roads in FY14
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) plans to award up to 4,000 km of roads through EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contracts in 2013-14, largely to overcome the funding issues in the BOT ĂâĂâ build, operate and transfer ĂâĂâ contracts. The authority still has to chart a plan for the BOT segment that generated a meek response from the companies.

GMR wants to resume highway project, offers guarantee
A fresh offer has been said to be offered by GMR Infrastructure for restarting work on India's largest road project, the 555-km-long Kishangarh-Udaipur-Ahmedabad highway. The company has told the Road Transport Ministry that it will provide a corporate guarantee of Rs 4,256 crore in exchange for reduction in the annual upfront payment.

NHAI’s highway norms not practical, says Kerala
The National Highway Authority of India prescribed norms were the main constraint for highway development, said VK Ebrahim Kunju, Kerala Minister for Public Works. Proposal to expand Bhopal-Nagpur highway rejected
The Union Environment Ministry has rejected a National Highway Authority of India's (NHAI) proposal seeking expansion of a road connecting Bhopal and Nagpur that cuts through a proposed tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh. The Standing Committee of National Board for Wildlife, chaired by Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan, has accepted an expert panel report which said that four-laning of NH-69 within the Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary cannot be permitted currently" as tigers and other wild animal
