The Rajasthan government has said that it has agreed to transfer its 1,000 MW Chhabra thermal power plant to NTPC Ltd, in an asset-for-equity deal.
Power Grid evinces interest to invest in Telangana
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has evinced interest in investing in power transmission lines in Telangana. ĂâPGCIL has expressed its interest to invest in the transmission projects in the state. The Chief Minister wanted officials from the state electricity department and PGCIL to hold talks in this regard,Ăâ a release issued by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar RaoĂâs office said.

ABB wins Rs 4,350 crore deal for long distance power transmission link
ABB has teamed up with Power Grid Corporation of India Limited in a mega project worth over Rs 4,350 crore for ABB to deliver a transmission link that will have the capacity to bring reliable electricity to more than 80 million people. The Raigarh-Pugalur 800 kilovolt (kV) ultrahigh-voltage direct current (UHVDC) system will connect Raigarh in Central India to Pugalur in Tamil Nadu.
Super-critical set of BHELĂâs 660 MW plant at Mouda goes operational
The first super-critical thermal power plant of 660 MW capacity of BHEL - Western Region, at NTPC Mouda plant, is now ready for commercial operation. It has completed the stringent statutory requirement of continuous running for 72 hours at full load (MCR) without a single tripping. The testing was completed in the wee hours of January 5, 2017.
