ABB has teamed up with Power Grid Corporation of India Limited in a mega project worth over Rs 4,350 crore for ABB to deliver a transmission link that will have the capacity to bring reliable electricity to more than 80 million people. The Raigarh-Pugalur 800 kilovolt (kV) ultrahigh-voltage direct current (UHVDC) system will connect Raigarh in Central India to Pugalur in Tamil Nadu.

Super-critical set of BHELÂ’s 660 MW plant at Mouda goes operational
The first super-critical thermal power plant of 660 MW capacity of BHEL - Western Region, at NTPC Mouda plant, is now ready for commercial operation. It has completed the stringent statutory requirement of continuous running for 72 hours at full load (MCR) without a single tripping. The testing was completed in the wee hours of January 5, 2017.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has successfully commissioned another 600 MW coal-based thermal power plane in Telangana. ´The unit has been commissioned at the 2x600 MW Singareni Thermal Power Project (TPP) located in Adilabad district in Telangana.

A total of 2.51 lakh renewable energy certificates (RECs) were traded in December, power exchange IEX has said. ´A total of 2.51 lakh RECs were traded in the REC trading session held on 28th December, 2016 at IEX,´ it said.
