India´s Ease of Electricity rank jumped 29 points
India ranks 70 among 189 economies on ease of getting electricity due to positive reforms that have aided ease of doing business in the country, according to a latest report by The World Bank. India has jumped by a whopping 29 points from 99 last year, the report said.
Power crisis hits Bihar

With the Punjab Assembly poll round the corner, Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) has brought relief for the 85 lakh power consumers in the state, leaving the power tariff unchanged for the second consecutive year, although the power subsidy bill of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited may swell from Rs.5,600 crore last fiscal to Rs.6,364 crore this year.
